We at Gurudikshaam aim at helping out to the poor and the destitute of society in more than one possible way. An efficient team led by Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, the Founder, and President, ensures to achieve:
Eradication of poverty.
Improving quality of basic education.
Ensuring cleanliness of environment for a healthier living.
In order to reach out to the poor and deprived, it is not an easy job. These people are spread in the nook and corner of the society and do not have a banner, hoarding or any association to represent their community. They have thus to be engaged in to a community of their own so that they can come close to each other and stride towards solving their problems in groups.
One way of getting them on the same platform is to organise various events that bring in communities to sit together and discuss issues. Through these events, the needy of the society can get in touch with each other, thereby spreading the good words from one to another. If a few of them learns about certain good things, the events help in spreading the learnings from one to another- those who have not attended the same.
Social events as a means of communication
Social events are good in spreading awareness and education. Here, people of the same community come together on the same platform. Thus, they can share the problems common to them, and through these discussions, they can conclude on certain commonly set goals for eradication of these problems.
Events organised for the upgrade of basic education can be greatly helpful in this way. The poor and destitute of the society are often left out of basic education facilities. These events can give them the chance to get a taste of basic education. This especially helps the people who are deprived of these things, and some of them get interested to join schools at a later stage. Here, the deprived lot of people also get in touch with the others- those who provide education at the basic level. These events thus help in getting in touch with one another- the deprived lot of people come in touch with school teachers and managers and the latter can give them the opportunity to join schools for basic education.
The problem that remains at hand is to organise these people together- the deprived lot are totally at the fringes of the society. They lack the confidence to come out of their places and get together on any platform. Our volunteers help in getting these people on board but they have to work very hard for that. One has to spot the groups of people distributed all over the society, gather them in buses and send them to the spot of the events. One also has to ensure their food and return as well. In spite of so much effort, it remains a great challenge to reach out to all of them, especially in the remotest areas of the country.
Recruiting willing volunteers
In today’s world of consumerism, it is difficult to get willing people to volunteer for such jobs that have little return in terms of money or tangible things. So, it is quite a big deal to recruit interested volunteers for these events. Our team of founders who manage the show at www.gurudikshaam.org make sure to have people really willing to do these jobs. However, the process of recruitment involves difficult steps in order to scrutinize the applicants. The whole lot of events thus is long drawn and involves quite a bit of complicacies.
Funds to be Raised
Organising the events also need to have quite a bit of fund. Our team led by the Founder-President, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, ensures to tap all possible sources of funds, like the CSR funds of corporates. These funds are hefty ones and help in realizing the dreams of Gurudikshaam in an easier manner. These corporates often lack the manpower to implement these CSR plans, and we at www.gurudikshaam.org can chip in with the manpower required for these events.
We are at present operating in India but have plans to extend in the rest of South Asia any time soon. We have started operating since 2011 and have longer plans to spread to Africa and South America, the places where the population of the deprived and destitute is pretty and high and where there is the need to have more NGOs like us who can plan and implement the various activities to eradicate the existing social problems fast.
